Japan’s Media Arts to the World
The Agency for Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan organizes participation in various overseas media arts festivals etc. The aim is to introduce outstanding works in such fields as media art, video, the websites, videogames, animation and comics. Exhibitions, screenings, presentations and so on are arranged at overseas media arts festivals and other facilities with their focus on award-winning works from the Japan Media Arts Festival.More
Frankfurt Book Fair (2022)
The Agency for Cultural Affairs' Project for the Overseas Development of Media Arts 2022 will have a booth at the Frankfurter Buchmesse (Frankfurt Book Fair) 2022, where it will
hold a manga showcase presentation as well as an exhibition introducing featured works.
Ars Electronica Festival (2022)
At Ars Electronica Festival 2022, Japan Media Arts Festival (JMAF) will exhibit award-winning works and works by award-winning artists of Japan Media Arts Festival on location and there will be live performances during the exhibit.
The Annecy International Film Festival/Mifa (2022)
Japan Media Arts Festival (JMAF) will take part physically as an exhibitor at the world-renowned animation market, the Mifa, to showcase JMAF award-winning animation works. This year, we are highlighting female creators who are very active at the forefront of these productions, and we will also invite some of these creators to join us at Annecy.
27th Manga Barcelona (2021)
Japan Media Arts Festival will launch a special web site in association with the 27th Manga Barcelona to showcase award-winning manga titles selected under the curatorial theme, “Manga, Ties and Bonds.” The theme focuses on various relationships and bonds among the characters depicted in the manga. The exhibition introduces seven manga titles including one feature exhibition focusing on UMINO Chika’s work “March Comes in Like a Lion”, which was the winner of the 24th Japan media Arts Festival's Manga Division Grand Prize.
